Trypan Blue viability experiment

01Introduction

In the exploration journey of cell biology, we often face a key question: how to accurately measure cell viability? This not only relates to the accuracy of experimental data but also directly affects the reliability of research conclusions. Cell counters, as effective assistants in modern biological laboratories, have naturally become the focus of researchers regarding the accuracy of their viability analysis functions.

Today, we will focus on a core issue——The accuracy of viability counting of cell counters under the Trypan Blue mode. Through this staining method, we can observe that the cell membrane of live cells can exclude Trypan Blue, maintaining its original color; while dead cells, due to compromised membrane integrity, have increased permeability, allowing Trypan Blue to penetrate the cell interior and stain it blue. Therefore, it can clearly distinguish between live and dead cells. However, when this technology is combined with modern cell counters, can the results withstand scientific scrutiny?

We conducted an in-depth exploration of this issue through a carefully designed Trypan Blue viability experiment.

02Experimental Purpose

By preparing several samples with known viability(Theoretical viability)ofHEK293cell samples, andperforming Trypan Blue staining, andand using a cell counter to measure viability, we verify the accuracy of the cell counter's cell viability analysis.
