Experimental Background

The sample displayed this time is HT22 cells An immortalized neuronal cell line derived from mouse hippocampal tissue, Widely used in research on neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease) These cells do not express glutamate receptors but are sensitive to glutamate-induced oxidative stress, serving as a classic model for studying oxidative damage, neuroprotection, and apoptosis mechanisms.

HT22 cells have stable proliferation ability, can be cultured under serum-free conditions, and retain neuronal characteristics (such as expressing microtubule-associated protein MAP2). Their advantage lies in avoiding the complexity of primary neuron culture while simulating neuronal pathological responses, commonly used for drug screening, antioxidant research, and neurotoxicity assessment.

This cell line is valuable for studying molecular mechanisms such as ERK signaling pathways, autophagy, and mitochondrial dysfunction, and is one of the widely used tool cells in neuroscience.
